WCO strongly urges all hunters to purchase preference points for any species they wish to hunt in Wyoming the year before or for consecutive years, depending on the species, prior to when they plan on applying for a license. When applying for any license with one or more preference points your odds of drawing a tag significantly increase. These odds are further increased if you purchase the Nonresident Special tag. Preference points are available for purchase from July 1st – October 31st. WCO is happy to assist any client with the purchase of preference points so please contact us if we can be of help.
Wyoming License Draw Information
Applications for hunting elk must be submitted by January 31st, moose February 28th, bighorn sheep February 28th and deer June 1st of the calendar year you wish to hunt. As with preference points, we are happy to assist you with the application process for any species and apply on your behalf, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Reservations, Deposits & Cancellations
With the new preference point system in place, WCO offers hunters the opportunity to reserve specific hunt dates prior to the draw results being released. If you or your party would like to reserve a particular hunt week, an advance deposit of $1,000 per hunter is required. WCO operates on a first come, first served basis so advanced reservations are strongly encouraged due to the number of early bookings requested each year.
After drawing a tag, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to book your hunt. If you previously sent a $1,000 deposit to reserve specific hunt dates, that money will be applied toward the initial 50% deposit. The remaining balance on the hunt is due on or before June 1st. In the unlikely event that you have to cancel your hunt before June 1st, your 50% deposit will be forfeited and should you have to cancel your hunt after June 1st, your full payment will be forfeited. Refunds will only be granted in the case of death or severe injury.
